BISTUS IV started discussing Shrinking Cities and Ageing Societies worldwide

The fourth edition of the Bochum International Seminar on the Transformation of Urban Spaces (BISTUS IV) started in October, led by Prof. Fumihiko Seta from the Department of Urban Engineering at the University of Tokyo. The focus of the international and interdisciplinary Seminar is the link between the ageing of societies and the urban transformation of shrinking cities. BISTUS was organized by the Department of Geography of the RUB (part of the Competence Field). The students represent diverse Master’s programmes from the three Universities of the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) as well as exchange students from Mexico and Spain.
