Over many decades, the challenges, processes, and results of the structural change and the aligned structural policies have drawn in the Ruhr Region to the attention of space science and planning practice. In particular, strategies and projects to promote a knowledge-based society and economy, as well as the change in the addressing formats, such as the IBA Emscher Park (1989-99) or the European capital of culture Ruhr 2010 have been in the focus. The latter relied on experimentation, Innovation, and change of image and gave impetus to the generation projects, such as the Emscher conversion. Today, the Region is located, the growth in fossil fuels and polluting industries, founded in the midst of a \"turning point\" and a reorientation in terms of a social-ecological Transformation. This is due to increasing social diversity and polarization with the claim for opportunities, access, and part of justice have connected. In contrast to the \"structural change\" implies the concept of Transformation of a comprehensive epoch fracture that requires a fundamental reorientation in the way of Thinking and Acting. Accordingly, it is in need of new models and strategies, as well as a new Governance in changing constellations of Actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 What are the Narratives, strategies, concepts and projects are developed to deal with the Transformation of whom?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 What are the actors in which alliances and cooperation, responsibility, forms of play within the meaning of Leadership?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 What are the perspectives in the various fields and at different levels of Scale for the urban Transformation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 What are the success factors and pitfalls can be also due to path dependencies \u2013 identify?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
