Beteiligt war auch das Deutsche Arch\u00e4ologische Institut, Rom. Aus dem jeweiligen Blickwinkel ihrer Disziplinen stellten Berns und J\u00f6chner heraus, dass st\u00e4dtische R\u00e4ume hier traditionell von der Suche nach Idealit\u00e4t gepr\u00e4gt sind, etwa durch das Herauspr\u00e4parieren von Einzelmonumenten oder der Dominanz von Planung. Wissenschaftlich wenig ber\u00fccksichtigt sind dagegen Nachjustierungen von Planungen, ungeplante Ph\u00e4nomene, \u201ecounter spaces\u201c und die oft auch politisch brisante Eliminierung von Zwischenr\u00e4umen.
