6th KoMet Day: The Ruhr Region – A Model for Metropolitan Transformation?

An English-language RuhrBand is planned.

6. Comet-day-lit experts from the field of competence of urban research of the University Alliance Ruhr, the dynamic processes of transformation and the changing spatial structures in the Ruhr area from different perspectives. The topics were presented in 6 – to 8-minute Elevator Pitches, and then with all those present discussed and commented on.

-The Ruhr Region – a model for the transformation of metropolises?

In the overall look of the book examines the extent to which the Ruhr area can be a model for the Transformation of Metropolitan regions of the world. Not least, the Ruhr area is regarded in the professional world as a Prime example of innovative change. The Emscher Park International building exhibition, the transformation of the river Emscher and the conversion of industrial culture are internationally recognized flagship projects.
