The fourth event in the TC series, originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, took place on September 19 and 20, 2022, in a hybrid format at the Max Kade Center at the University of Cincinnati. In this edition, sponsored by the Emschergenossenschaft, the comparative focus was on the Ruhr region and the Rust Belt, with research findings and topics from previous events frequently incorporated into the comparison.
