Call for Submission
The Competence Field of Metropolitan Research of the UA Ruhr and the Emschergenossenschaft for the fifth time call for nominations for the KoMet Award. KoMet-Förderpreis aus. Der Preis würdigt herausragende Dissertationen und Masterarbeiten, die sich mit Bezug zur Metropole Ruhr mit Fragen der Transformation metropolitaner Räume befassen. Der Bezug zur Metropole Ruhr kann dabei entweder darin liegen, dass sich Arbeiten ganz oder in erheblichen Anteilen mit dem Ruhrgebiet selbst befassen, oder dass sie Fragestellungen mit hoher Übertragbarkeit auf das Ruhrgebiet behandeln.
The KoMet Award is presented annually and comes with a cash prize of €3,000 for the best dissertation and €1,500 for the best master’s thesis. If there are two equally outstanding entries in a category, the prize may be split.
The tender of the comet-funding award is aimed at graduate:students of all disciplines from universities and colleges In the country and abroad, have written a thematically relevant outstanding German – or English-language Dissertation or master thesis in the field of urban research.
Application procedure: Proposal reviewers are right:the inside of the completion of work. All of this can’t work with, at least, very well-rated dissertations and master, their submission is for consideration on the date of application for no longer than two years. A work may only be proposed.

-Summary of the thesis findings (max. 2 pages)
-Short Report (approx. 2 pages)
-a copy of the thesis

It is requested, the documents only in digital Form as PDF files by E-Mail metropolenforschung@uaruhr.de submit. Only time limit and form applications submitted to the competition procedure.
Application deadline: 31.07.2026
The awards are an independent Jury decides. The award ceremony generally takes place in the framework of the comet-Tags 2026.
