Cooperations
The competence field “Metropolitan Research” has cooperations in the areas of research, teaching and transfer – its partners are based both within the Ruhr Area and abroad.
COOPERATION WITH THE EMSCHERGENOSSENSCHAFT
The Emschergenossenschaft and the competence field “Metropolitan Research” have decided on closely collaborating in the inter- and transdisciplinary academic monitoring of the Emscher area’s transformation in the final phases of the Emscher conversion. In the initial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the period 2017 to 2021, the formats of cooperation in the areas of knowledge transfer, international transformative research in the Real-World Laboratory Quarter, promotion of young scientists and teaching research projects were established and recorded. On 17.01.2202, this cooperation was then confirmed until 2026 in a subsequent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Further details on the 2nd MoU can also be found here on this KoMet-Webpage.
COOPERATION WITH THE NRW.BANK
Since the end of 2022, NRW.BANK has been supporting the UAR competence field of metropolitan research. It was contractually agreed to financially support some events - in particular the KoMet Day in 2022 and the KoMet Day in 2023. The joint organization of these events will raise the level of cooperation between NRW.BANK and KoMet to a higher level.
COOPERATION WITH THE REGIONALVERBAND RUHR (RVR)
In June 2019, the Regionalverband Ruhr and the Competence Field Metropolitan Research (KoMet) of the University Alliance Ruhr in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed to intensify and consolidate their cooperation in the fields "Innovation Region Ruhr", "Knowledge Transfer", "Transformative Research" and "Support for Students and Early Career Reseachers".
