Establishment of the new research field Knowledge Metropolises

The establishment of a new research field on knowledge metropolises had been decided at the meeting of the steering committee in December 2017. In January a kick-off meeting of the interested parties for the new research field took place in Bochum. More than 20 participants from academic research of the UA Ruhr universities and practice e. g. NRW.BANK, Business Metropole Ruhr GmbH and Regional Association Ruhr discussed interests and topics within this thematic field which should be focused on in the future. Prof. Dr. Matthias Kiese, who mainly initiated the establishment of the new research field and Prof. Dr. Marianne Saam have been designated as contact persons.
