Kick-off event Ruhr Lecture 2018/19
"The Future of the Ruhr Region: Beyond 2018 and the End of Mining" is the topic of the sixth edition of the Ruhr Lecture started on October 16th 2018 at the University of Duisburg-Essen. After the welcome addresses by Dr. Hans Stallmann (Coordinator UA Ruhr) and Prof. Eberhard Schmitt (Director of Communication and Sustainability of the RAG-Stiftung), Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Noll (Chairman of the Zollverein Foundation) and Prof. Dr. Barbara Buchenau (Vice-Rector for Social Responsibility, Diversity and International Affairs at the University of Duisburg-Essen) gave a lecture on current challenges regarding the sustainable and future-oriented development of the Ruhr Region. This semester the Ruhr Lecture is organized by the Competence Field Metropolitan Research in cooperation with the RAG Foundation.
