KoMet conducts a WORKSHOP in Turin together with the Emschergenossenschaft
Transforming urban regions: Lessons from Turin and the Ruhr - May, 5 2023
On May 5, the event Transforming urban regions: Lessons from Turin and the Ruhr, originally planned for 2020 and postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, was finally held in Turin. This event took place on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in December 2019 by the Emschergenossenschaft (EG) and KoMet with cooperation partners from the city of Turin.
Besides representatives of "Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning (DIST)", representatives of the Urban Lab (UL) of the City of Turin and the Department of Cultures, Politics, and Society (CPS) of the University of Turin as well as representatives of the Emschergenossenschaft (EG) participated. The aim was to present each other's research priorities, specific expertise (Emscher Conversion) as well as teaching programs and transfer activities to explore possibilities for further cooperation. This event consolidated the cooperation relations between the Turin stakeholders as well as the representatives of the Emschergenossenschaft and KoMet. A continuation of this trilateral cooperation relationship (KoMet, Emschergenossenschaft and Turin actors from science and practice) is still planned.
